It is good to eat up to 10 g. of protein within 30 min. If working out. My favorite way to do that is to eat low calorie string cheese. It has 9g of protein and is not only low in calories, it is portable in your workout bag and helps cool you down. I also use it to get in sufficient calcium during the day and no carbs involved.

i would go to the gym first thing in the morning before I ate breakfast- I would be lethargic and not feel like finishing the workout. A trainer told me to eat a little protein meal before I go to the gym... like an egg beater scramble with veggies. I tried it & felt way more energetic at the gym!
