Don't want to spend a lot of time on oven cleaning? Place about 1 cup of cloudy ammonia in a aluminum pie pan and place it in the oven overnight. In the morning, simply remove the pan and wipe the oven clean with a damp sponge. If you do this often ( about once a month ) you won't have to spend money on harmful chemicals.

You know when you go to clean your oven, especially the self clean oven, and you go to put your racks back in, and they are a little laggy and stiff??? Well, if you put a little olive oil on paper towel, and rub each end with the oil, slide them back in the oven. They glide right back in! Voila!!
I was not happy the way the oven door was just not getting as clean as i want it. I poured a layer of lemon juice on the door and used a razor blade after a few minutes to scrape the brown spots off. It was so easy. The door has a gasket just do be careful near the gasket do not allow the blade to get too close. DH was amazed how clear the oven door is now.243
I have self cleaning oven but do not like to use it. I prefer to clean up after evry spill but the door spatter was really well baked on. I remeber you can use vinegar romake gravy juoces so I tried the lemon juice. It also leaves the oven smelling nice not chemical odour.
I recently started using soapnuts for my laundry, dishwasher & general cleaning. Great for people, the environment & eliminating several products for one.224
Soap Nuts are actually berries. They are also good for people with allergies & anti-microbial (good for the septic system). I make a liquid with mine for the laundry & scent it with lavender & orange essential oil
