This Sparked Me!

People wrinkle their nose at the word cabbage but eating cabbage slows the rate at which sugar is absorbed into the bloodstream, so good for diabetics & dieters. Packed full of nutrients it is also known to fight cancer cells&can detoxify your bloodstream. High in water content definitely a weigh-loss food. Cabbage soup will help restart anyone who has plateaued. Ever heard of the cabbage soup diet, yep it works in the short term. Or just try 1/4 steamed head with caraway & a little butter

I love cabbage. DH and i eat it instead of spaghetti. I slice across the cabbage head and it leaves thin ribbons like noodles. I microwave them and they become bright green. Sometimes i add a little oil and some parmesan and then the spaghetti. You can have a big mound of cabbage instead of 1/2 cup pasta. Cuts down on those carbs and it lasts a longer time on your plate.

I love cabbage. Anyway it is served. My husband doesn't. However, I put 4 cups of shredded cabbage into a pot of soup instead of pasta with other vegetables and lots of mushrooms and he loves it. He has 6-8 cups of soup a day. He is losing weight.

I love to make inside out stuffed cabbage! You use the same ingredients as you would to stuff the cabbage, but you shred the cabbage and combine all the ingredients instead. Even my picky kid will eat it! Its one way to incorporate more veggies into the diet that taste good!

I did not know this about cabbage. My hubby would eat it every day, but I not so much. I hate the smell while it is cooking. It seems I always get company when I have cabbage cooking and I hate the house smell. lol
