I recently stopped using any credit card. I started taking only enough cash to buy what I am going out for and if I see something I think is a buy, I use that money only, and forgo something else on my list. I have found that I don't spend as much or have "buer's regret" nearly as much.
I also save something out of each trip to go in a tip jar. I am paying for a min vacation in a couple weeks with my change from shopping
Continuing with the glass jar tip for pantry dry goods, candle jars are also superb. They have a tight fitting ring. I LOVE the smell of scented candles so they are a little luxury I still buy from Wal Mart, etc. And, those jars are perfect for storing EVERYTHING.
If you like crunchy, fresh lettuce that will keep in your refrigerator for at least 1 week, try this tip. Buy you a Foodsaver from Costco, buy a dozen wide mouth mason jars from Walmart, and order a wide mouth sealer from Foodsaver (about $8.00) I like to buy Romain Lettuce in bulk, chop it into bite size, wash and spin, pack in jars and seal. The lettuce will stay dry, and super crunchy. A money saver and a super easy way to make a wonderful salad.
