After moving in my electric stove was nasty..it was caky and really grimy. I have found my favorite way to clean my stove... you have to keep up on it and wipe and wash it down after every use.. Wash down with dawn dish soap and sprinkle baking soda on it... use a scraper or a blade to get the really bad crusty stuff off... I use a spray bottle of ammonia, vinegar and water (even parts and its what I use as a glass cleaner) and then I will spray that down... wipe down and clean.
I totally 'spring clean' my kitchen everyday forcing me to put away everything. I only smell the cleaning products. I put candles on the stove & keep it shady. Once meal is prepared & eaten, it's all over. I close shop. 227
