I have recently started to do my shopping at Save-A-Lot. The savings have helped me stay within my food budget. As an example: Bananas are 3lbs for $1.00. Of course you have to know the prices because not everything is a bargain.
They also take coupons and have their own coupons on their web site.
I have found a new way to curb snacking and mindless carb over intake, I have started clipping coupons and challenging myself to see how much I can save on my trips to the grocery stores,. I recently watched a program about extreme couponing and the man bought $5700.00 worth of goods for under $150.00. So I set out to beat my all time goal, at one point when I was couponing I bought 567.00 worth of groceries and paid 189.00 for them. It does take time to dedicate to gathering the coupons but it
gathering the coupons, which is where the mindless snacking gets cut out because I will not eat at my computer so I get so wrapped up in doing my coupon sites that I don't snack, and when I do snack it's something healthy that I bought with a coupon.
