Make up 2 jars to look like "piggy banks". Label 1 GIVE & 1 KEEP. Place them in the most used area of your house or office. Every time you say something negative about yourself or your weight, put a quarter in the GIVE jar. When you say something positive, place a quarter in the KEEP jar.
At the end of every month, whatever is in the give jar, give away to a favorite charity or to a family member or friend. Take the money in your keep jar and treat yourself to something nice, like a new piece of clothes or a manicure or something you want.

Setting a $ Limit Helps Us keep our Financial Perspective & our Marriage Intact!
When we got married,he was a saver and she was a spender. How to make BOTH financial types WORK TOGETHER? We agreed on a SET MONETARY LIMIT OF CASH that we could spend each month WITHOUT consulting the other. That way SHE knew she would not have to ACCOUNT FOR EVERY DIME and HE knew he would not have UNEXPECTED EXPENSES every month. We willl celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary this year and we have found this monetary spending cash limit very helpful! We only had...
...to change our limit ONCE and that was due to children!
One way to help avoid being discouraged when you slide off course a bit, is to write yourself a healthy lifestyle resume! What skills have you developed (making a well developed workout routine, making solid meal plans, etc), what are some of your past successes (lost 15 lbs, ran a 5k, motivated a friend to exercise), and what new skills do you hope to develop. Even if you aren't quite on track, you are still developing the skills that you need to get there!
Develop a different attitude to make better choices.
Many of my diabetic friends seem to try to placate their sweet tooth. They try to find things that taste sweet but won't raise their blood sugar. My focus has to been to re-educate my palate to enjoy the right kinds of foods that will enhance my health.
