Everytime I come up with an Excuse not to do something (Not workout, not make healthy food choices etc) I make myself come up with 3 reason to do it. Usually the Reasons win and I end up making the better decision

Instead of making those resolutions that barely last 10 days let alone 12 months - make some goals with positive non-food related rewards. Like I'm going to be below xxx lbs by Feb and I will get a massage for reaching it.
Instead of giving ourselves reasons why we can't do something; give ourselves reasons why we can. Because we CAN. Excuses only give us a reason to quit, and if we want to succeed we can't be a quitter.
Eat what you want, but eat everything/anything in moderation.
For all my weight loss (and moreover, maintenance), I have not been super concerned with how many carbs vs proteins vs fats, or good vs bad carbs, etc... I know I need a reasonable mix, and I know not to overdo anything. So yeah, I pretty much ignore the so-called nutritional advice, other than ..
... to not overdo (read: overeat) anything in particular or too much overall. Proof of my success? I haven't put on more than 2 pounds at any given point since losing the wieght almost 3 years ago. And I eat ANYTHING I desire.
