It is a split second in time that can change your life --for good or for bad. In every second you have a chance to do what is right for you (what is going to bring you health and happiness long term) or do what is giving you instant gratification (but regret later). I try to remember it is about this second and stay positive in my thoughts and actions. I try to choose what will bring me lasting health or happiness. Sick of regrets.

Sometimes procrastination slows down my goals - so I use this mantra "Every second counts!" It helps me remember to live life NOW. It helps me squash lies like, "Oh this one little bite won't hurt" or "I will start Monday" or "That was so good I should have a second helping". Every second counts!
I love to read and I have combined reading a good book with staying active. In order to get motivated to walk or exercise, I listen to books on my I Touch. I have listened to two books this month (60 hours each)! I can't wait to finish the third book. Music after teaching second graders is not a good idea, so listening to books is worth every second!149
You don't have to be perfect for every second of every day. Who cares if you still hate broccoli or only do your 30 minutes of exercise and then stop?! The point is that every positive step you take is a step closer to your goal. Don't beat yourself up!
