Saw this article online and really liked the idea of using clothepins to label electronic cables so you know what's what! Can't tell you how many times I've puzzled over what cord leads to what when trying to troubleshoot a computer problem. Check article for more ideas!
I got two of the cheap milk crate looking things from Walmart. I put both on top of my washer. One has regular hangers and the other has pants hangers. When I take things off hangers in the closet I move those hangers to the baskets so that I have them for items that are coming out of the dryer that need to be hung up. It also keeps the closet from being cluttered with empty hangers.
Each new season I turn all of the seasonal items hangers around to face me. When I take the item off to wear it I put the hanger in the laundry room. Finally when I hang the item back in the closet I face the hanger away from me. At the end of the season I get rid of any clothes that have a hanger facing me because I know I didn't wear them. It also lets me know whether I wore something already so I don't do repeat outfits too often.224
