Every night before I go to bed I write down 5 things I am grateful for. It can be something simple like a beautiful sunny day or hearing a child's laughter. I also write more serious things like thanking God for His Son Jesus Christ who died for my sins. I have found that by doing this each night it changes my perspective, especially if I have had a bad day.
In a success story (Lori Mueller's, on RealAge), I read, "I just wanted to get the weight loss done so I could get to the maintenance part".
Wow... I've been "losing" (or trying to) for so long, that it didn't really occur to me that there would ever be a "maintenance" part. Lori's attitude changes the perspective...with perseverance, yes it WILL happen, not MIGHT happen. It definitely worked for her!
