I have been working hard on the elliptical at the gym. Some days when I get on and I think oh my I can only stay on here five minutes. I dig deep, push for 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and then I hit my stride and stay on for 20 minutes. I just have to push myself.

Tai chi helps me get past that initial barrier to exercise, when it just all seems too much to even contemplate. It's so gentle that it doesn't feel like exercise and pretty soon I'm ready to move on to other types of exercise.
