I have several sets of measuring cups around. I keep a 1/2 C measure right in the bag of frozen blueberries I get at BJ's. I do this with granola, too (1/4 C ). Saves time and I'm less likely to overdo the portion size if the scoop is right there.

I keep measuring cups, measuring spoons, etc., in a bowl in on my countertop. This makes it easy for me to find the measurer I want, without digging through drawers or dish drainers for them. It makes meal and snack prep much faster for me. A food scale in a handy spot also helps!

I measure or weigh my portions of grapes, raisins, almonds, etc. according to the serving size on the package & put them into my hand to teach myself what a true serving looks & feels like. This way if I snack/graze, I have an idea of how many calories and servings I'm consuming of a certain food.

As a type-2 diabetic, keeping accurate track of my food really matters in glucose control and to lose weight. After watching Biggest Loser, I thought I would try their tip of weighing food, rather than using measuring cups or eyeballing portions. I began weighing the food I had just measured, and I was shocked to see how great a difference there was. When you're measuring something high in calories, such as walnuts, you can easily goof and unknowinly add 100 high-fat calories!
I use a "Biggest Loser" scale by Taylor that I love. You can sit something on it and set to zero, so you're only weighing the food, not the dish. A button selects between ounces and grams. It goes up to 5 pounds capacity, great for making "5-Minute Bread" recipes.
