I have cats and buy the large plastic containers of litter (35#) then collect cans and glass in them when they are empty. I also get paper bags at the grocery (when I forget my reusable bags) and keep one by my desk to fill with paper trash. When I take things to the recycling center, it is ALL recyclable and I don't have extraneous containers at my house.

I have a daily flip calendar on my desk. At the end of the year when I replace the old pages with the new, I clip the old ones together and use them as a note pad on my desk for miscellaneous notes, calls, numbers, whatever. It saves me from using new note pads!
Recycling is good - recycling before recycling is even better 224
One quick way to save some cash is to recycle your old ink cartridges, printers, computers, etc. for cash towards your next purchase. For instance, Staples gives $2 staples rewards for each recycled ink cartridge. HP will issue cash/credit for recycled printers, computers, etc. What a great way to help the environment, as well as save you some money!
