Sometimes when I am in a cardio rut I combine my exercise routines. you don't have to be a triathlete or duathlete to appreciate gym workouts that incorporate two or more cardio sessions. Say I have only 4o minutes to exercise but am burned out from the bike. I will perform a HIIT bike training for 20 minutes and immediately transition to the Treadmill for 20 minutes of run / walk exercise. It keeps your exercise fun, you can track your improvement and it shocks you out of complacency

This is my favorite way to train. You are in control of what to do next and no "down" time...keeps your workouts moving and your heart rate up.
