Cleaning Shower Heads And Softening Washing With Vinegar
Members Were Sparked
To clean shower heads that have been clogged with mineral deposits, place half a cup of vinegar in a plastic food storage bag and secure the bag to the shower head with a rubber band. Let it stand for two hours then rinse and buff he mixture to a shiny finish. One cup of undiluted white vinegar added to the laundry rinse cycle instead of commercial fabric softener will soften clothes, cut detergent residue and is a plus for family members with sensitive skin.

I like to crochet so I crocheted a mop head with peaches and cream thread to fit over the swiffer mop head then I thread elastic through the crocheted mop so it fits over the top of the mop. When I mop I spray the floor with white vinegar and water. Then mop with my homemade mop head.
When I'm finished I take off the mop head throw it in the wash and have a clean mop head to start with next time. I found it more ecological and I like the mop head with the nubs from crocheting cleans better. I use a mix of vinegar and 1/2 c. + 1 gallon water put in spray bottle.
My coffee maker needs to be descaled and it takes a large amount of white vinegar. I don't trash the vinegar, I re-use it first. A cup can be tossed into the dish washer as an additive. You can heat the vinegar and then soak a shower head in it to remove scaling. You can wrap a rag or paper towel around your bathroom faucets and pour on hot vinegar. Let it soak and the shine will come back.
