Silly Putty

I made some home made silly putty the other day with some kids. I put it on my desk at work to play with because I have to stay busy. I noticed today that anytime I would get a craving for food that isn't in my meal plan, I would play with the silly putty and forget about my craving. It has an added benefit that it keeps your hands moist!

  • I used a recipe I found and modified it slightly.

2 tbsp elmers glue- I use the blue glue so I don't have to dye it
    1 tbsp water
    2 tbsp liquid starch

You have to mix those all together in a styrofoam cup
Then squeeze out some of the "guck"
Stick it on wax paper for about 5-10 min.
    It's ready to play with!

I'm going to pick up an easter egg to put mine in as well. Also, if for some reason it is really sticky, add some more starch and let it set again. We ended up doing that with the kids because it was sticking to their hands. - by JSCOTT86

  • Great idea! Can you share your silly putty recipe??? For what it's worth (and I'm aging myself!) I remember the original Silly Putty in the plastic egg. OMG, my brothers and I used to "lift" the pictures from the Sunday comics on the Silly Putty. - by 1CRAZYDOG
