My DW and I really enjoy a healthy dinner with beans. We make Navy Beans and Ham, Plain pintos that later turn into Burritos and especially; bean stew. We always make a full pot, eating some today and putting back some for tomorrow. What's left is frozen in 2-cup containers which are easy to take out and have veggies and protein, too. Both quick and filling. You can add other veggies, make a quick salad or even a healthful fruit dessert because you are saving on the high cost of meat.

Don't forget to measure and use lower fat, lower sugar ingredients. :) Put them in individual sandwich ziploc bags and freeze them. Any time you need a quick grab n go meal, you can pop one in the toaster oven for 5 minutes, and you have a great toasted PBJ. I also tried eating more carbs, then less carbs; more protein, then less protein; increasing my good fats, lowering my good fats; drinking more water, then less water, and changing my workout routine.

when I buy fresh fruit, I always prepare it, (peel and dice) then put some in the fridge, some in serving size bags in the freezer. I use the frozen servings in lunch boxes, they keep the food cool and thaw by lunch time. For snacks, I only let them partially thaw, enough for comfortable eating. These are expecially good for hot weather snacks or refreshers at work like construction where you need extra liquid and cooling.491
