One of the most powerful things that SparkPeople has taught me is that although I can & will be imperfect, I can still be a success! If I miss a workout or go over on calories, I don't throw the towel in for that week, or even the whole day. I look at how far I've come & jump right back in.

This is good advice. Sometimes I go good for a week or two then I mess up and start to feel like what's the point. But the point is to keep at it. I didn't learn to walk overnight, so changing my ways won't happen instantly. It takes time undo the lifestyle I've been accustomed to for years.

A chant that goes through my head when I'm taking my walk is "This ain't much" Then I always correct myself with "It's better than nothing."

Talking to myself as a winner helps me banish the negative voice and keeps me pumped. I call it ChampionSpeak because I know that those Olympic athletes probably talk to themselves the same way and I want to get a gold medal too.
