I don't weigh myself anymore. In the past it either made me feel so happy that I gave up because I felt I didn't need to be careful anymore or gave up because I thought it was useless. I can't deal with the numbers anymore so I just keep eating healthy and exercising.
I look in the mirror and know I am getting there.
Sometimes the scale or the mirror don't cooperate with our preconceived expectations of where our hard work with exercise and food intake should have us - for any given time period. ( some call these plateaus) When this happens to me I focus on making sure I am giving my body what it needs..8 hours rest, 8 glasses water daily. regular exercise, and plenty of fruits and veggies. I keep in mind that weightloss is a symptom of healthy living and I am NOT on a diet!
All you need is the right frame of mind and persistence. Remember Always! You are trying to be healthy and any step no matter how small contributes to this. This is a lifestyle and need to be something you can LIVE WITH for the rest of your life.
Using dry-erase markers on my bathroom mirror, I wrote things like "healthier", "pool parties", and "confidence" to remind me why I'm doing this. Now, whenever I am looking in the mirror I get that motivational boost. Hopefully I will be able to look into the mirror soon and also see it's working.
