    Our bodies need cholesterol, not all fats are the same. Every time I read some article about good fats vs bad fats I want to poke my eye out. The only truly bad fats are the man made modified fats--All the fats man has tinkered with including animal fat that does not come from pasture raised animals should be avoided) Virgin cold pressed coconut oil is food-- it tastes like coconuts and I can feel the energy burst as I let it melt on my tongue. It is truly a beautiful thing...I don't know what affect it has on my blood numbers but I know that it makes me feel great and has helped me eat less junk because it keeps me satisfied.

    I use it on my oatmeal in the morning then top with a splash of coconut milk, yum!

    Actually recent studies are showing that coconut oil does not raise LDL. More to come on this one

    I don't eat it, but I use it for my skin - eczema, it helps a lot.

    Wow - lots of debate on this subject among "experts - I tend towards..all things in moderation ... I sure do like our pop corn cooked in it!! And I love the smell of cooking with it! Not convinced on the pros and cons yet - I'm listening and learning!

    Coconut Oil can raise LDL (bad) Cholesterol and increase a person risk of heart attack or stroke. 1 Tablespoon has about 12 grams of saturated fat. An increase of LDL or bad cholesterol in the blood forms plaque on the coronary artery walls. WHAT YOU THINK MIGHT BE HEALTHY NOW, COULD IN FACT, BE BUILDING UP IN YOUR ARTERIES! An artery already narrowed by plaque can trigger a heart attack.
I think I'll stick with Vigin Olive Oil and eating 4 walnuts a day to protect my heart.

    And taking coconut oil raised my cholesterol results to double it was before taking it. What is good for one may not be good for another.
