I've not had a lot of back trouble, but whenever there have been aches, I've always thought the heating pad worked best. NOT! Cold constricts blood vessels, relieving pain far better and helping you heal faster than heat, according to Dr. RIchard Guyer at the Texas Back Institute. Everyone, myself included lug around their water bottles, and I rarely see anyone take a sip. So while at work, I bought myself a nice stemmed glass, and pour my ice cold water into the glass. Makes me feel like drinking it and seems much more manageable. Being cold adds to calorie loss!

There are times that I will start hurting badly from my Fibromyalgia. In some of those cases I will use either a heating pad or a hot batch to help relieve the pain. I have found that is hurting because of Fibro, that I can put a heating pad on it, I can usually get some relief
. At other times the pain is to wide spread and at those times I will try the hot bath. Make sure that you do not get a chill after either of these or the psin will return. This works faster than poping a pill..
