This idea may have already been suggested but when I'm done eating dinner, I pop in 2 pieces of "desert flavored gum," usually the strawberry shortcake or mint chocolate chip ice cream. Obviously gum isn't exactly a piece of cake or a bowl of ice cream but it definitely satisfies the cravings. I also allow myself a "100-calorie" ice cream bar sometimes which totally does the trick.

Craving a delicious creamy banana split? Try this low fat/low carb alternative: Use one container of Yoplait Light Very Vanilla fat free yogurt, 2 tablespoons of sugar free chocolate syrup, one small banana 1/2 cup fresh, cut strawberries. Place the yogurt in a small dessert dish, surround with banana slices and top with strawberries then garnish with chocolate syrup. MMM MMM GOOD! *Note: if you prefer ice cream consistency, sub yogurt with 1/2 cup Breyer's CarbSmart vanilla frozen dairy dessert
I use cottage cheese in place of salad dressings but I also use it in place of sour cream and even put it on frozen dinners. It gives me added protein and is a lot healthier alternative to dressings, regular cheese, etc.
Those Healthy Choice dinners, the ones that have the dessert, I add cottage cheese to every portion of the dinner, even the dessert. It makes the dessert bigger and adds protein!334
If you want a gooey dessert or a delicious steak dinner Its perfectly ok to indulge yourself every so often but moderation is key. If you have that dessert or big dinner just modify your meals for the rest of the day or the next or walk afterwards to burn some of it off. Even if you don't do those things in the end its still better to indulge a little now instead of engorge yourself later from depriving yourself.... enjoy that cake! 4
