Would you leave the house without brushing your teeth? Taking a shower? I didn't think so! Today, and for the past three days I have been feeling very unmotivated. That's when I decided to look at exercise in a different way....the same way I look at brushing my teeth, taking a shower, eating....something that is done everyday, no matter what. Even if it is only for 10-20 minutes, just getting up and doing something sparks my motivation!

TODAY I CAME TO THE SAME THOUGHT!!!! IF YOU CAN DO HOUSEWORK, KIDS, WHATEVER....WHY NOT "MAKE CARDIO A PART OF YOUR DAY" EVEN 10, 20, OR 30 MINUTES. SET A TIME, AND STICK TO IT "PRIORITIZE!!!"

As a diebetic who wants to avoid taking insulin, exercise is not an option with me. It is an essential part of my daily life. When I exercise, my blood sugar drops significantly. I sleep better. My depression lifts. My clothes get looser. I have tons of energy. Weight loss is just the (pardon the expression) "icing on the cake".

That is a good idea. I will start to think of exercise that way.

Stop and think before....
I am an emotional eater, when I am in a binge mood. I now realize that I can stop and think okay what am I upset about, or why am I feeling bad about myself? Once I do that I can step away from the food, and feel really good and positive about myself. I didn't binge and I realize another trigger that I can watch for in the future. This also works for meal choices, am I really hungry or is it just that time of day? This very empowering to me.
Usually within two or three weeks of faithfully exercising, I have to stop and rest some sort of injury - a tweaked knee, a foot I can't put weight on - something that keeps me from exercising. Since December, I have been stretching at the end of EVERY workout session, so far, I am injury free. I am sore and feeling muscles and stuff, but I have not strand anything to the point that I can not work out. I never realized how important stretching is to your total workout.
Focus on what you are adding, not what you are taking away
Focusing on the healthy lifestyle choices I am adding, such as drinking lots of water, eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and getting daily exercise, helps keep me much more motivated than focusing on what I am taking away. My lifestyle is then not about deprivation but about making good choices for a healthier me.
