Cut back on that sandwich's calories without reducing taste and pleasure. A ham sandwich can easily have 450 or more calories. Here's a way to eliminate a couple of hundred without even trying.
Bread: Switch from white to whole grain. 50 to 100 saved Mayo: Replace it with spicy mustard and some pickles. 100 or more. Lettuce: Add it. Nearly nothing added. Eat slowly, take small bites and chew them thoroughly. You get full and you may not finish the sandwich. Another 50 to 100 saved.

I love reading and hate housecleaning. I borrow cd's from the library (books on tape) and listen to my favorite authors while I scrub toilets and clean the fridge. Sometimes, when I'm listening to something really good, I try to find other household tasks so I can finish listening.
I use my portable cd player so that I can go from room to room without missing out on anything.
Whenever I get a dollar bill, I look to see what big letter is displaying. If that letter is an initial in my name (first, last or middle) I "reserve" it and put it in a money jar. You would be surprised at how much you can save this way in a year's time!
