I remind myself daily that just because the scale hasn't changed, it doesn't mean I am not making progress. I keep mental and written notes of how I feel each day, how my clothes fit, etc. as reminders that every little bit counts. Sometimes, accomplishment is not tangible but is based on the feeling of self worth you get when you make a commitment to better health and wellness....and stick to it!
MORE INFORMATION:
I believe far too much emphasis is placed on weight and size as opposed to health. Many people do "controversial" things to have an appearance that is acceptable to society, while unhealthy physically and emotionally. I want to do it the right way! Thanks to Sparkpeople...I AM!

I need to throw away the scales..I am a yo yo dieter. The scale is my biggest enemy. When I lost, I celebrate by cheating (a little) when I gain, I have the what the hell, attitude and sabotage myself.
Right now, I just want to feel healthy and move my body....the extra weight not only looks (not so good) but it makes it hard to move...and have fun...

I don't use a scale either. The last time I was weighed was when I went to the doctor. I found out I gained 10 lbs from my last visit. About a week later, I started exercising and haven't stopped since (almost 5 weeks now). I feel so much better about myself knowing that I am committed to getting fit and healthy. I think that is the most important thing.

Keeping track and staying accountable
Keeping track of everything I eat every day has been crucial to me losing weight. The moment I stop keeping track is when I see the scale start to slowly slip up to higher numbers. Keeping track of my food intake keeps me accountable - I am not tempted to "cheat" or make poor choices when I know I am going to keep track of it!
I have a very accurate food scale that measures in oz, lbs, ml, and grams. Everything I eat that has portion size information gets weighed out, so I am sure I am not having portion distortion.
