Not only is cast iron a consistent way to add iron to your diet & a great way to exercise your arm muscles as you lift the heavy pans but it also saves you money on energy. Cast iron needs less temperature to heat up, heats up evenly and retains heat long after you turn of the stove, saving energy.
1.Remove perspiration stains - Add four tablespoons of salt to one quart of hot water and sponge the fabric with the solution until stains fade. 2.Brighten colors - Wash colored curtains or washable fiber rugs in a saltwater solution to brighten the colors. Brighten faded rugs & carpets by rubbing them briskly with a cloth that has been dipped in a strong saltwater solution & wrung out. (Con't) 432
3.Clean a gunky iron bottom - Sprinkle a little salt on a piece of paper & run the hot iron over it to remove rough, sticky spots.
