Getting the correct fitting shoes is part of my sucess. I have very flat feet. Not only that, I severely over pronate. That's part of the reason I was nick named Ducky when I was in the Marine Corps. You would think that I would need Motion Control Shoes. Ha, I had such ankle and knee pain and developed shin splints.

MORE INFORMATION:
I finally went to Road Runners and had them evaluate me. Turned out the best shoe for me was a soft stability shoe with cushioned inserts. I never had pain again. So regardless of foot type, make sure you are wearing the right shoes for you. Never had a RR evaluation? It's awesome.
