When trying to calculate nutrition info for a recipe of my own, I had previously totaled each ingredients nutritional info (on paper) and then divided it by the number of servings and then entered it into a food grouping under spark people's add a food button. I just learned that I can go to the "recipe calculator", insert each ingredient in its entirety, put in the amount of servings the recipe makes, and it will automatically calculate the nutrition facts per serving. what a time saver!

Living as a Diabetic has made me aware of my Limitations----specially in Food.I find that by Tracking my entirFood on the Recipe Calculator I'm learning to eat healthier while also enjoying it in moderation. If eating a heavy Meal---at home or out---I track every Ingredient on the Menu in the Recipe Calculator.I find out the total Calories of the entire Meal this way---this helps me to decide the things to eat or to avoid and the Portion sizes too!!This way I can have my Cake and eat it too!!
Tracking what and how much I eat has opened my eyes to both good nutrition and proper portion size. I have found wonderful recipes in the Spark Recipe section and have analyzed my own recipes with the recipe calculator. After only 1 week, I lost 5 pounds and am totally psyched!
