Don't be shy about using this strategy the next time you want to enjoy some restaurant pizza. Take a few napkins and blot the top of your pizza. You will be amazed at how much grease and oil comes up...think of it as junk that you avoided putting in your body! While pizza is not the best choice for every day eating, this tip can at least help you enjoy it in moderation every now and then.

okay so we all love pizza and especially home made ones but sometimes we want a light pizza without the heavy base. I suggest an alternative, a zucchini crusted pizza base. Here is the recipe: 2 cups grated zucchini 2 eggs, beaten 1/4 cup flour 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated 1 pinch basil or 1 pinch marjoram or 1 pinch rosemary (optional) 2 tablespoons olive oil YUM! great way to cut down carbs
When eating pizza I have found that taking clean paper napkins and gently blotting the top of your pizza will wick up a fair amount of oils . The last time I had pizza at our favorite place I used 3 napkins on an 8 inch square pizza. I figure any oil I take off the top of my pizza is that much less oil that I am not taking in.
Just one slice of plain pizza has 10 grams of fat and 4.4 grams of saturated fat (so bad for your heart) Stick to 1 slice if you really must have pizza and make sure it's thin crust and eat pizza only rarely. Instead make Eggplant pizza
