This is a Lifestyle, not a Race. Working hard at dietary changes & increased daily excercise for months, I've come to realize that my body loses weight at the rate of about 3+ lbs per MONTH. (the inches are a different story, I'm down 3 sizes so far!) This brings me to a 1-1/2 to 2-year time frame, allowing my body the time it needs to adjust & come to a healthy weight. That's OK! Don't "start over" ~ just don't quit! Feel happy and energetic *today*~the benefits begin now, not at a deadline.

Don't be afraid to use each and every day, each and every meal, as a time to get back on track. If you blew it at lunch, eat a lighter dinner. If you didn't eat breakfast, have a filling snack as soon as possible. Didn't make the gym today? What's stopping you from walking or doing chores?
Setting mini goals and deadlines based on upcoming events is motivating.
I like to dangle carrots in front of me to keep me going in the right direction. Good carrots for me are, upcoming social events, like family reunions and weddings. Sometimes it's just knowing I'm going to see someone I don't see very often. Hope it helps you too!306
pick a small achievable goal: eat fruit only for breakfast or salad only for lunch, or pack lunch instead of buying all week. small deadline: this week only, or for the next two weeks. pick a deadline that's doable.
BIG ACHIEVEMENT : once you have accomplished your small goal you feel great, look at this small steps , toward your BIG goals.
