Keep your till (cash register) receipt and tick off the products as you use them through the week. You then have a list of what you need and what you still have from the previous week. This stops you buying ingredients out of habit and having to bin excess unused food. you could even delay your shopping trip until you have used the items. Put them into spark recipe finder for to try some new meals.

I store 90% of my shoes in the original boxes that they come in. I always put the sales receipt in with the shoes. If for some reason I need to return them or question how old my workout shoes are, I have the receipt right there. No digging through a mountain of other receipts looking for it. I also have done this with books that I purchase – especially cookbooks – I put the receipt in the back of the book. Sometimes I just want to know how long I have been using that cookbook.
I buy my Sunday paper.then on Mon. go to to couponmom.com to find the deals each store has for the week(it shows coupon you can use with the weekly special to save even more) it has CVS,Walmart,Target,Walgreens, Kroger,Harris Teeter,Food Lion and more. Most stores will also let you use a manufacturer's coupon and store coupon for each item.
you can often get coupons back with your receipt for products you have just purchased
