I have a gift for taking leftovers and stuff that I have in the fridge and pantry and creating delicious and easy meals from it. Most people hate to waste food so why do it? If you use a little imagination, you can come up with some great new ideas to use use up what you have on hand.
For example if you have leftover grilled chicken breasts and some peppers and onions in the fridge you can make easy and delicious fajitas with just a few ingredients and spices. Quick, easy amd delicious!

Before sitting down to eat I put all leftovers away. This ensures that after I'm done eating my portion controlled meal I wont be tempted to nibble as I'm putting away the leftover food from the meal. This is also a good time to pack my lunch for the next day if the leftovers will be used for my lunch.
It sounds silly, perhaps, but I wonder if we really know how much money we throw away with the leftovers each week. I started making a concerted effort to use every bit of food that is in the fridge. Whether restaurant or home leftovers and I found I was stretching 4 more meals, at least, by either reheating or using them in another way. I think we take how much food we have for granted sometimes.
If you refuse to eat leftovers, then do your best to not cook more than you will eat or order more than you will eat. I found the appetizer menu is a great place for me to order from. With the size prepared by most restaurants, a salad or soup and an appetizer is plenty.
The perfect way to make sure leftovers get eaten -- schedule them in on the food planner when you add the original meal. It's easy! You can copy the food group directly over and, for me at least, I'm making my lazy work for me. I'd almost rather just eat the leftovers that I planned than remove all those foods and add in what I really ate. Double win: leftovers get eaten AND tracked!
