if you have ants, puff some talc based powder where you see them entering from. The composition in Talc is too large for the ants and they will not cross it. You can puff around all your baseboards, windows, etc. to protect the whole house.
Kid and pet friendly, plus it smells nice :) You may need to repeat if you treat one area and ants find a new way in.

Here is another solution to get rid of ants inside the house or garage. Use baby powder. They hate it. Just put the baby powder where the ants are coming in. I put some baby powder in a washed out hair coloring bottle with the skinny tip so I can get into the cracks or where they are coming in. And whatever powder is left on the floor I just brush away. This has really worked for me. 432
Figure out the ants’ main points of entry—windowsill, doorway, baseboards—and sprinkle those places with any of the following... Cayenne pepper, Chili powder, Cinnamon, Sage, Whole cloves, Bay leaves, Cream of tartar, Salted cucumber peelings, Dried peppermint leaves or peppermint oil Distilled white vinegar Lemon juice and peel—mix it with water and wash the kitchen floor, Baby powder, Uncooked white or brown rice You can also sprinkle the above items in food pantries or cupboards.
