I have to earn TV time. I DVR my favorite shows and they are not allowed to be played until I exercise. So, if I don't want to find out on the news who went home on the Biggest Loser then I've got to lace up my sneakers! I record about 1 hour then I hop on my elliptical. No commercials!

12 minute, body weight only workouts...pike squats, jump squats, reverse planks...all while on a 30 second interval timer. Do what you can for 30 seconds and move on to the next workout. Do cardio before and stretching after to avoid straining.
Good examples of the ones I am doing on found here...www.bodyrock.tv
It takes 20 minutes for your brain to register it is full. So, when you finish a low-cal meal and still feeling unsatisfied, suck on a lollipop, jolly ranchers, or some other hard candy. This will give your mouth something to do as well as force you to wait those 20 minutes until your brain catches up with your stomach in feeling full.
I heard an author who writes about life changes say that we have two brains: the smart one and the bunny brain. The smart one can plan, but the bunny just wants instant gratification. She says it helps to retrain our brains to focus on the long term gratifications, to essentially trade up. So when I don't want to go to the gym, that is when I need to go the most because my bunny brain is in control. The workout somehow staves off bunny brain too.
