Sugar Alcohols which are often used in products labeled sugar free can raise blood sugar. Be careful. Avoid foods which cause the highest rise which are sugar in liquid form, like sugared drinks, fruit juices, and adding sugar to any drink; anything made with flour,white bread, spaghetti, mac & cheese, pretzels, bagels, muffins. This is great information. I also found out the hard way that sugar alcohol products(sugar free) can cause intestinal problems. So look out for those ingredients that have sorbitol, and other products ending with (tol)when linked to sugar free products.
