I ADORE cheese. But when I decided to lose weight, I knew I would have to start cutting back. It was sad to think of all the ways I'd have to cut cheese out of my diet...until I realized that often, when I add cheese to something, I'm not truly appreciating its flavor. On some sandwiches, pastas, or salads, I can barely even taste the cheese. So I decided that I would only eat cheese when I knew I was going to appreciate its flavor to its fullest. Now I'm eating less and not missing it at all!

    As a cheese lover I agree.

I'll skip cheese on sandwiches and such, many dishes I make can go with no cheese in ans way less on top (enchiladas)...but every now and then a 1oz, or 2oz if counted, of good cheese with bread and apple type of meal is must!

    I love every kind of cheese! I am having so many difficulties cutting out the cheese! I hate fake cheese emoticon

    Great strategy! A little feta or goat cheese on the top of some mixed greens can go a long and delightful way!

    I think this is a GREAT idea! Not only with Cheese, but with all kinds of food. We put things on out of habit, and it may add a little bit of taste, but usually not enough to account for the calories. Great job! Great Seceret!!

    That makes sense! Why eat what you can't really taste? That's such a waste of calories!

    I LOVE cheese. When I add it to my salad, I cut a 2 ounce slab then I cut it into little cubes...that way I can taste it....the shredded stuff just doesn't seem to satisfy the urge. Probably the same calories, but those little chunks are nice.

    I'm also a major cheese fan. I live in Wisconsin, after all. But I get my cheese fix daily. I either have a piece of string cheese (a very low calorie kind) or cottage cheese (which I don't like as much but it has a ton of nutritional value). I also sprinkle a little bit on top of my mini black bean quesadillas I make myself sometimes.

    Thats so funny because I JUST finished my salad and I added tons of sharp cheddar cheese ( the nasty fake kind ) and I couldnt even taste it! haha
