I heard a weight loss expert on a radio talk show putting down acai berry diets. She says people keep looking for short cuts but she never saw anybody succeed in long term weight loss without balance, moderation, discipline, consistency, and persistence. Eat at least 50% of your daily intake as raw fruits and vegetables. It has been the best weight loss secret I have learned, although a friend says 75% would be better. I have consistently lost weight doing this. It keeps me feeling energized and my digestive system clean and moving.
Over the winter, I was was very inconsistent with this, while I did not gain weight, neither did I lose. My body felt clogged and sluggish. I think it has something to do with not destroying the natural enzymes in the plants as well as the fiber.
