This is the way it was given to me. Make adjustments to lower calories. 2 T cocoa 4 T sugar 4 T flour ˝ egg 2 T oil 3 T milk (optional) 2 T chocolate chips, caramel sauce, or crushed chocolate mints (like Andes) 1. Grab a mug (oversized one if you can), spray lightly inside with cooking spray, put dry ingredients into a separate bowl & mix. Beat egg briefly, then dump half of it into the bowl with dry ingredients, following with the wet & optional ingredients, mix all until combined.

2. Pour into the mug & microwave for 3 min on high. The cake might rise above the lip of mug. Don't be alarmed! Let it rise. 3. Allow to cool slightly before digging in. Mmm-enjoy on its own, with a swirl of raspberry sauce or some ice cream. Makes large single or 2 small servings. No leftovers!

Do you bake this at 350 degrees like most other cake recipes?

This sounds delicious. But be sure to put the ingredients in the recipe calorie counter. When I entered them using 2% milk and canola oil. It came out of be 647 calories for one serving. Too much for me. The oil has a lot of calories. Maybe you could substitute applesauce or make other substitutions. There is a recipe for a diet coke mug cake on Spark recipes that is good with a lot less calories. But, I know some of you don't consume diet drinks.

I've had this a few times and love it. I reduced the flour and added more cocoa. Will try it with the chocolate mints.

Sounds yummy. I crave chocolate and this might satisfy my cravings ---will have to work out calories for it though.
I bet it would be good with some Greek yogurt instead of ice cream.

I have had a chocolate cake in a mug, cooked in the microwave, and it worked well, and was wonderful. I don't know if the recipe was exactly the same as this, but I am going to try this one.
