Cardio and strength activities every day are a must. Even with a busy lifestyle, it is important to be active everyday. Change up my routines to keep it fresh and make sure that I have at least 30 minutes of cardio every day.

I can find the time to take care of everyone else, so why not take time for me? I need to be healthy for myself so I can benefit my family and community.

    Absolute Beginners -- Walk Around the Block
Back in early January, weighing 348 pounds and unable to walk up stairs or more than a few hundred feet without huffing and puffing, I began by walking around my block. I used the Map a Walk feature in my Exercise section of Spark People and discovered that it was 550 yards around the block. Just walk the block every day--and write down the time it takes. When you have shaved two minutes off the block, add another circuit. I'm up to 4 circuits in 22 minutes, a far cry from the 10 minutes it took to do one circuit 3 months ago. And, along the way, it helped me drop 35 pounds so far.
