Probiotics are called good bacteria. Probiotics help block cholesterol absorption & can improve liver
Function. REGULAR USE OF PROBIOTICS CAN CUT TRIGLYCERIDE LEVELS. Fermented foods like sauerkraut and pickles, & brined olives are a probiotic, & eating active culture yogurt or keifer. I read that probiotics can help a diabetic's immune system. I buy Acidophilus, a probiotic by Spring Valley at Walmart. The one with the digestive enzymes helps me lose weight. Ask your doctor about Enzymes.

    You diabetic doctor is doing what is correct for you. Eating pickled cucumbers slows down the rate at which they release sugars into the bloodstream. Studies at Lund University in Sweden studied the effects of eating pickles with high-carb meals & those who did not eat pickles saw their blood sugar spike to the moon. Seems the vinegar helped slash blood sugar...for you the salt might affect you or your Blood Pressure. So follow doctors orders

    My DIABETIC Dr. told me NO pickles, NO brined stuff.
