It seems that if I eat a snack (usually popcorn) at night, the next night I crave it terribly. After a few nights of not eating it, the cravings subside. I think cravings sometimes are a result of habit, not hunger.
If you're like me... you love snacking in front of the TV!!! But this mindless eating can be a huge problem. So, buy an Orville Redenbacker's Air-Popped Popcorn machine, some whole popcorn kernels, and then you can have a HUGE bowl of air-popped popcorn to snack on for about 150 calories! And tons better for you than bag or movie theater popcorn. Popcorn seasonings are great too, just watch the sodium content.
Popcorn is actually good for you. A cup of plain air popped popcorn has only 30 calories. Popcorn has few health benefits but the key benefits are that it provides fiber, B complex vitamins and calcium. Popcorn is starchybut packed with fiber. Fiber helps slow digestion, making you feel full longer. A good snack for dieters and diabetics. Three cups of popcorn is considered a 1-ounce equivalent from the grains group or 1 starch exchange
