To get rid of the smell of garlic or onions off your hands -- try squeezing lemon on your hands and then wash.(doesn't work as well). The other way is with toothpaste, yes toothpaste. Apply a half-dollar-size amount to wet palms, rub together, and rise. (This works the best).
When you cut up very strongly scented foods like onion or garlic it's next to impossible to get the smell off your hands. If you have a stainless steel faucet that's really all you need. Just wet your hands and run them over the faucet and wash with hand soap. No more onion smell!
