Take A Walk With The Dog Or To The Park And Lose Weight!

We don't have a dog ,but we do have a park that we can walk to daily ,if need be! We found that it is EASY to fit the walk in and get our exercise,fresh air & sunshine [with sunblock ,of course~because of extended time in the sun!] when the weather is nice! If walking is done over a year's time CONSISTENTLY and calories are lowered a little at a time, the weight will come off as I have read in Good Housekeeping articles and other magazines. I did not lose wt. this way,but I lost the wt....
by CONSISTENTLY DOING some form of exercise DAILY when I was on my wt.loss journey.Now that I have been maintaining, I still exercise--though it may not be DAILY, I still get 3x/wk exercise including pilates 1x/wk, wt.lifting on my Soloflex 2-3x and running 2-3x/wk. And --the food--portioning it!

In addition to my regular exercise routine at the gym, I find taking my dogs to the dog park and walking around the park while they play is good exercise for them and keeps me moving. It also provides some great social time for the dogs and me when I meet other dog lovers.
EXERCISE= SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST GOING TO THE GYM!!
Exercise and burning calories are essential parts of losing and then, eventually maintaining weight. The gym is great but, there are so many other ways to squeeze in exercise! Exercise can be vacuuming and mopping the house to some good tunes, taking the dog for an extra long walk, chasing your toddler around the park, gardening with the family, going to the mall a half hour before the movie to walk around it briskly, washing the car, sweeping the driveway, swimming, etc. POSSIBILITIES ENDLESS!
I go to the gym and enjoy it but, I have found that it's easy to fit in movement and exercise into so much of my day. If you feel tired, sometimes getting up and moving around will give you a great burst of energy! Don't think of exercise as one dimensional. There are so many options!
