When I feel like I want to eat something I shouldn't, I try to clean something. Get that edge off. It works for me but maybe not for everyone. Doing this helps me get organized as well. It don't have to be for very long. Clean a sink in the bathroom, sweep a floor, organize a junk drawer. Something to get your mind off of eating.
The good thing with this is there is nothing to buy except a broom and maybe some cleaning products. Or you can use an old sock for dusting. Works great and is washable. Plus cleaning burns calories. Just an added bonus.
