To avoid adding extra calories to your salad, ask for your salad dressing on the side and dip your FORK (without any salad on it) into the salad dressing THEN load your fork with salad. You still get the flavor of the salad dressing and you will barely dent the surface of your dressing.

    I also tell the waitress to bring out half of what she normally would so I don't feel guilty about waste.

    I do this all the time. It's amazing how much dressing is left after finishing my salad.
