Spaghetti Sauce

Instead of adding sugar to your spaghetti sauce to cut the acidity of the tomatoes, steam some carrots until they are soft, then give them a whirl in the food processor till they're smooth. They're add some sweetness to your sauce for fewer calories and more nutrition!

    Love carrots in sauce!!! My mom always added carrots, and I do too. If you're making a sauce that will simmer for more than 20 minutes, you don't even have to cook the carrots first. Just make short shreds with the finest shredding blade and throw them right in. Or if you're making a quick cooking fresh tomato sauce, you can just saute the shredded carrots with the onions at the beginning of the recipe.

    This is a wonderful idea!!! Why I never thought of that before, is a mystery to me!!! Thank you from me and my hubby says thank you, too because he loves making spaghetti sauce. emoticon
