My husband makes enough to pay the bills and for us to go out once a month. I make $243 a month with disability. I put that in my savings account every other month (need some to feed my animals). I also have a savings account for when ever I use my debit/credit card a dollar from my checking goes into that savings.

I'm a slow loser, probably from years of yo-yo dieting I have a lot of weight to lose but have disabilities that keep me from complicates heavy physical exercise. So I walk, a lot.
I've learned for me its consistency, not intensity that keeps me going. For the first time ever, I'm not burning out, I'm still going, still losing after two years! So don't think it's impossible to reach your goal weight, just keep going, it will come off!
I keep my legs moving as much as I possibly can while going to and from the bus on my power wheelchair, and it has really helped--I broke my plateau and have lost 15 pounds! I do single leg extensions and add more movements as it is safe to do so. I am refusing to let my disability keep me from exercising.
I have found that I move so much more this way than I do on the days I have to drive my car and use my walker, just because my feet give me so much pain that when I have to walk, I avoid it to diminish the pain; I also tend to fall frequently when I walk, so the wheelchair is much safer for me.
I have laundry facilities in my apartment complex so I pick up one roll of quarters each month when I get my disability check. Whatever is left at the end of the month I put in my savings jar for that special item I want. Right now it's a DVD/VCR combo recorder.
I'm learning to save for what I want instead of putting it on credit.
