When I started my journey I was great following healthy foods and giving up all the "junk" foods I was eating...then the "cravings" started... I wanted to eat everything...that was full of fat and carbs and so high in calories it was going to put on 20 lbs in one meal!!~~ Started to chat to myself...lol...I do that often...AND made a pact with myself...that IF I hit a mini-goal...I would "Treat" myself to ONE of those cravings~~BUT I had to go right back to my healthy foods....334
So Along comes first mini goal...I had my "fatty fast food treat" and DID go right back on my healthy eating plan....then set another Mini goal....and started "PLANNING" my next "treat"... May not be everyone's Cup of Tea...but it motivated me to get to each new mini-goal and I lost 90 lbs~224
It is important to not feel deprived when dieting - binging is frequently the backlash. To counter this tendency I plan for a treat at the end of every day. I save a reasonable block of calories/fat and have a light ice cream or a cookie. Knowing that I will get this treat helps me to say no to all the little temptations throughout the day - I will get my treat... just not right now. 76473468471475495494
Over time I noticed that I lost the craving for sweets because I was eating them less frequently. I also started realizing that sweets put a dent in my 'food' calorie allocation - so now when my sweet tooth kicks in I wait until the PM but usually I choose fruit or other 'food' 277
