I try to eat a full serving of protein (15g) every 2-3 hours to insure fat loss not muscle. It also keeps you full all day long and its best to set a schedule so your body knows when to expect it. There should be an equal carb/protein ratio when ever possible protein should be higher. Also, I know spark people said 8 ounces of water but I heard you are suppose to drink half your body weight of water in ounces a day to support weight loss.

  • What on earth are you eating that is high protein of 15 gms every 2-3 hours?? Can't imagine it's natural foods - must be a supplement of some sort, or processed food. I try to eat naturally, because I will have to be eating this way the rest of my life and I don't want to rely on processed food or supplements. Can you tell me what natural foods I could eat that were 15 gms per serving?? emoticon - by RAINPOET
  • I went to the medical weight loss center in CT. They have a good program. People travel from all over New England to go because you get results.

    Tiaram11: I had their food for the first part of the diet. the first week I lost 11pounds then an avg of 2-3 a week. They have a good low calorie pudding (90 calorie, 15g protein), shakes, hot chocolate, meat sticks than their real food like cereal, soup and chili all have 15g of protein. After the first week you add your own meat and foods but stick to their guidelines. The brand of food by the way is protimax and you can buy online but there are similar products in stores.

  • Shartlesville: They were all about water too. The total body water percentage should be 55%-60% of his/her weight. If you drink less water than your body requires it sort of holds it. Also, I was told that fat leaves the body thru urine. So you drink more, pee more, loose more.

    RD03875: As for the Gout it is a good point but if you eat more plant based proteins (beans, legumes) it might work. I found a link that might help
